Here is your golden opportunity to treat yourself to a selection of great tipples  from the experienced beer sommelier to the novice pint drinker Killarney Beerfest is suitable for people of all levels of knowledge and interest or for anyone that just wants to kick back with a pint of the good stuff!

Yellow Belly Brewery is the name of one of the many brewers that will descend on Killarney with barrels of golden deliciousness and coal-black stout. Mountain Man will be crawling down from its perch in Cork and The Wicklow Wolf Brewing Company will be on the prowl. Celebrate and sample Ireland’s Best Craft Beers with over 21 craft beer producers and more than 100 craft beverages on offer this May 26th to 28th.   Elite craft brewers will descend on Killarney and bring with them kegs of tasty delights to quench the collective thirst of the festival fans who can enjoy beer tasting master classes, a gala awards ceremony, competitions, tasty food village and live entertainment!  Sit back and sip your stout to Irish Folk Band Rackhouse Pilfer, trad heroes Beoga, fresh from collaborating with Ed Sheehan on his latest album Divide,  as well as The Whileaways headline Killarney Beerfest alongside The Small Hours, The Tom Cats, The Rising, and DJ’s to keep you supping all night!   As well as all of this, there will be workshops. You’ll have the perfect excuse to dispose of those perilously breakable wine glasses at home after learning about Beer and Food Pairing with Caroline Hennessy Award Winning Irish Food Writer and Broadcaster, ‘Say Cheese’ and combine some of the finest craft beers with cheese for an insightful and exciting Cheese and Beer Pairing hosted by writer and drinks consultant Susan Boyle – one half of Two Sisters Brewing Kildare and Steve Lamond of Beoir.  Dean McGuinness of Newstalk’s Movies & Booze will present Beer Flavour in the Brain – an understanding of how our brains process the flavour of Craft Beer. Take it from us it promises to be enlightening! Christina Wade President of Ladies Craft Beer Society is going to highlights the Role of Women within the Craft Beer Industry. The guys who put the hip into hops, the National Homebrew Club, will also be rocking about leading Brewing Demos Workshops which will help you learn more about your own homebrew bubbling away in the corner at home.   For a full list of Beer Workshops and schedules follow this link! http://bit.ly/2potqci   All the while Brewers will be putting their best new craft-mixtures up for consideration to see who rules the roost in Beoir Beer Awards 2017. The league of extraordinary beer drinkers in the guise of Beoir Ireland will once again host their awards programme at the festival. There are eight categories and the Beoir Champion Beer of Ireland will also be crowned on Sunday afternoon.   Last year’s winners, Kinnegar Brewing, will be hoping to have a repeat of the success they had with Flying Saucer in 2016 while last year’s Trouble Brewery and White Hag Brewery will be hoping to gain a lead by working on the success established by their respective concoctions, Stakeout and Púca, last year. It will be a packed weekend, so you should feel positively ebullient if you’re a craft beer aficionado!
